Synchronicity Eases Enterprise Deployment of Developer Suite Design Collaboration Solution, Adds Linux and AIX Ports

MARLBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2002--Synchronicity, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Synchronicity Developer Suite(TM) version 3.2 with enhancements to ease enterprise-wide deployment at multi-site companies and support for all the major engineering operating systems. This new version upgrades the Standard Developer Suite, which bundles Synchronicity's widely adopted design collaboration and management tools ProjectSync® and DesignSync®, as well as the more role specific HLD, SOC and Physical Developer Suites.

Developer Suite adoption has grown from connecting engineers at the division level to company-wide rollouts in the world's largest development organizations. Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) eases the central administration of access control to a company's internal online resources, which now often include the Developer Suite and the IP Gear Publisher Suite system for design reuse, so adding LDAP support in v3.2 is key to enterprise roll-outs.

Other new capabilities in Developer Suite v3.2 that bolster large deployment include: live backup, live project import/export utilities, robust handling of very large files, automatic proxy detection, remote access to server configuration and performance improvements to data caching for local sites. The Developer Suite also implements other enhancements requested by Synchronicity's growing customer base and adds ports to new operating systems.

With this latest release adding Linux, AIX and Windows 2000 support to existing Solaris, HP-UX and Windows NT ports, Synchronicity software now runs on all the major operating systems used by engineers. Recently there has been a surge of design activity on the open source Linux operating system and industry giants like IBM and Intel back AIX.

"Eight of the top-ten semiconductor companies already use the Synchronicity Developer Suite to connect and manage their design chains," commented Dennis Harmon, Synchronicity CEO. "Between the recently announced role-specific HLD, SOC and Physical Developer Suites and the broader enterprise support in this release, we are in a great position to get all ten."

Pricing and Availability

Developer Suite v3.2 is available now and is priced from $4,500 per user depending on configuration. Existing users of DesignSync, ProjectSync and DesignSync DFII with active maintenance contracts can find more information and upgrade to Developer Suite 3.2 for free by visiting the Synchronicity Customer Information Center http://support.synchronicity.com/.
